Well hello again everyone. I cannot believe that it has been almost a year since we posted anything. There has been oh so much going on that we have not had a moment to take a breather. So what have we been up to? Well nothing new really:
-both of us are back in school (how she manages that with her schedule I will never know)
-both of our careers are going well
All in all, life has been very good to us a we are very fortunate to be blessed with such great families and friends.
I know that this is an extremely pathetic excuse for a post but I thought that I should post an update since it has been so long. I hope everyone reading this is doing well.

Well it really happened,, we are officially homeowners. Sorry for the radio silence but we have obviously been quite busy with the move and whatnot. We want to thank everyone for all of their help with getting everything moved to the new place and for all of your love and support. We will update everyone once we get a chance.

Wednesday cannot come soon enough. Initially we were afraid that everything was moving to fast - although we are still worried we won’t get everything done - however we now cannot wait to get out of our apartment as it is slowly being overtaken by boxes. All of this is a necessary evil though and is more than worth what lies ahead.
I helped my friend from work, Sarah, move into her house last Saturday and we can only hope that our move goes as quickly/smoothly as that did. The big moving day for us is Saturday 12/22 and we can only keep out fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate. Sure a little rain or snow never hurt anyone but since they did not get a chance to lay any sod down all of that loose dirt quickly becomes mud and makes its way onto our driveway which is serving as our unloading area (assuming we can back the U-Haul up there); mud + new house + 2 first time home owners = disaster waiting to happen.

17 days left until we are as broke as broke gets. I am not sure broke does justice to the amount of debt we are going to be in but you get the point. We also just received word that Pulte Mortgage has finalized their decision to accept our loan; thank you so much PM for letting us owe you lots of money. In all seriousness though the folks at Pulte Mortgage who have handled our loan have been absolutely fantastic:
Cindy Fox - Loan Processor
Dan Lourenco - Chief Mortgage Czar? (not sure of title)
We are going to brave the elements to take a look at our house today since it has been a whole week since we were there; trust me that is a long time for a first time home buyer who is building a new house. We are not sure what to expect but think they might have started to put cabinets and stuff in.

Well things continue to progress quite rapidly. The outside of the house is pretty much done except for the shutters and the landscaping. On top of all this we finally locked in a rate and are only three weeks out from being super broke…woo….hoo? Either way this has been such an emotional roller coaster and I don”t think it is anywhere near being over.
Here are some of the most recent pictures.

We do! We do! Well we are almost one month away from settlement and could not be more excited, nervous, terrified…I think you get the point. It still does not feel real but I am sure it will very very soon.
You can see more pictures from the weekend off 11/10 here but be warned, they are mostly of drywall. It is funny, the rooms look SO much bigger now that they have walls - which is completely counter intuitive - but they look so much smaller in the pictures. I guess everyone reading this will just have to come visit; bring your sleeping bags and flashlights.
I am sure we will be heading over tomorrow to take a look so we will keep everyone updated.

We had our pre-drywall meeting yesterday (11/9) and they were in the process of putting up some siding so I thought I would snap a couple pictures. Chances are they probably finished the siding not long after we left and they had told us they were going to start putting the drywall up that same today.
For those of you who are hanging by our every word hoping and wishing for our house to be done, fear not, we will swing by the site this afternoon and put some more pictures up tomorrow.

Well we continue to be absolutely amazed by the progress Pulte is making on our house. It had been only one week since my last post. I promise to update this post with some more eloquent Matt-ism but right now I just want to get this up so the fam and friends can see some pics.
To see all the pics (right now only the smaller versions) go here. Below are some of the highlights:

Wow….we”re in shock and are still not quite sure what to say. We went to the site less than a week ago on Sunday Oct 7th and it looked exactly the same as in the pictures in my previous post. The reason we are so shocked is because it has rained almost all week:
| Sunday 10/9 |
0.72" |
| Monday 10/10 |
0.01" |
| Tuesday 10/11 |
1.80" |
| Wednesday 10/12 |
0.06" |
For a grand total of 2.59 inches of rain in four days; although I think those numbers are much lower than what areas near our house actually got. Ok so enough of me talking…

This next picture looks exactly like the one above but the trained eye will notice that it is an action shot with the guy on the roof actually jumping down. He then proceeded to fall through the floor, break his leg and sue us. So much for the house…better luck next time
. Windy feels the need for me to put "just kidding". This better?

We are still completely speechless…
